Adobe Express pricing looks simple until you start comparing what you actually get for free, what the $9.99 Premium plan unlocks, and whether paying more for Firefly or a Teams plan makes sense.
The good news is that Adobe Express still has a genuinely useful free tier. But once you need premium assets, brand tools, more AI generations, or team controls, the differences between the plans become much more important.
If you’re completely new to the platform, my guide on what Adobe Express is explains the tools and use cases before you choose a subscription.
Adobe Express pricing plans: At a glance
Adobe Express plans start at $0, while Adobe Express Premium costs $9.99 per month for individuals. Adobe also offers Firefly Pro for AI-heavy users, plus Teams and Enterprise options for businesses.
Here’s the current Adobe Express pricing breakdown for U.S. users:
| Plan | Price | Best for | Main reason to upgrade |
| Adobe Express Free | $0 | Casual creators and beginners | Basic design tools without paying |
| Adobe Express Premium | $9.99/month | Creators, freelancers and small businesses | Premium assets, brand tools and 250 AI credits |
| Adobe Firefly Pro | $19.99/month | Frequent generative AI users | 4,000 AI credits plus Express Premium |
| Adobe Express Teams | $4.99/seat/month first year | Small teams | Admin tools, shared branding and more storage |
| Adobe Express Enterprise | Custom | Larger organizations | Security, governance and enterprise controls |
The Teams price is an introductory offer. Adobe lists its regular price at $7.99 per license per month, requires at least two seats, and bills the annual subscription monthly.
If you’re mainly deciding between Adobe and Canva rather than between Adobe’s own plans, my Canva vs Adobe Express comparison breaks down the bigger differences.
Adobe Express pricing plans breakdown
The biggest question isn’t whether Adobe Express has enough features. It’s whether the features you actually use justify moving beyond the free plan.
For occasional graphics, the free version goes surprisingly far. Premium becomes much easier to justify once you create content regularly or start relying on Adobe’s premium templates, stock library and brand tools.
Adobe Express Free: $0/month
Adobe Express Free isn’t just a trial. You can keep using it without a subscription or credit card, making it one of the easiest ways to test Adobe Express before spending anything.
What’s included:
- 100,000+ static and video templates
- 1M+ royalty-free Adobe Stock assets
- 4,000+ Adobe Fonts
- Standard photo, video and document editing
- Scheduling to one account per social network
- 10 days of version history
- 5GB of cloud storage
- Limited free daily generative AI access
Adobe currently describes the AI allowance on Free as free daily generations, rather than the older 25-credits-per-month figure you may still see in some pricing comparisons.
Best for: people making occasional social posts, flyers, simple videos, invitations, presentations or other basic content.
Pros:
- No credit card required
- Enough templates and stock assets for casual use
- Useful editing tools without a subscription
Cons:
- Premium templates and assets remain locked
- Only 5GB of storage
- Fewer branding, resizing and AI capabilities
If those limits feel restrictive, see my roundup of the best Adobe Express alternatives before upgrading.
Adobe Express Premium: $9.99/month
For most individual users, Adobe Express Premium is the sweet spot in Adobe Express pricing.
It costs $9.99 per month, has no annual commitment on Adobe’s current U.S. individual plan, and comes with a 30-day trial.
What’s included:
- Everything in the Free plan
- 250 generative AI credits each month
- All premium static and video templates
- 200M+ royalty-free Adobe Stock assets
- 30,000+ Adobe Fonts
- One-click Resize
- Remove Video Background
- Advanced animation tools
- Brand kits
- Scheduling to three accounts per social network
- 30 days of version history
- 100GB of cloud storage
The upgrade becomes much more noticeable if you’re producing social posts for several platforms. Instead of manually rebuilding the same design at different dimensions, one-click Resize can handle multiple formats much faster.
Brand kits are another reason the Adobe Express Premium price makes sense for freelancers and small businesses. You can keep logos, fonts and brand colors together instead of rebuilding your visual style for every project.
Best for: content creators, freelancers, marketers and small-business owners who use Adobe Express regularly.
Pros:
- Big jump in templates, stock assets and fonts
- 250 monthly generative credits
- Useful time-saving tools for recurring content
- No long-term commitment on the individual plan
Cons:
- $9.99 can be unnecessary for occasional users
- 250 credits may not be enough for heavy AI generation
Adobe Express Premium also competes closely with Canva’s paid plan. If price is your main concern, compare it with my Canva pricing breakdown before deciding.
Adobe Firefly Pro: $19.99/month
Adobe Firefly Pro is the better upgrade if generative AI is the main reason you’re considering a paid Adobe Express plan.
At $19.99 per month, Firefly Pro includes Adobe Express Premium, so you’re not paying $9.99 for Express and another $19.99 on top. Adobe also includes Photoshop on web and mobile.
What’s included:
- Everything in Adobe Express Premium
- 4,000 monthly generative credits
- Unlimited access to standard Firefly image features
- Premium AI video, audio and partner-model generation
- Adobe Photoshop on web and mobile
- Adobe Fonts and Firefly creative tools
Adobe currently also offers unlimited generations on select AI models for the first year, although promotional benefits like this can change.
Best for: creators who regularly generate AI images, videos or audio and would otherwise hit Premium’s 250-credit allowance quickly.
Pros:
- 16x more monthly credits than Express Premium
- Express Premium is already included
- Adds Photoshop web and mobile
Cons:
- Double the cost of Express Premium
- Unnecessary if you rarely use generative AI
If AI creation is your main reason for upgrading, read my Adobe Firefly review before paying for the extra credits.

Adobe Express Teams: $4.99/seat/month for the first year
Adobe Express Teams is basically Premium with the administration, storage and brand controls a business needs.
Adobe currently charges $4.99 per license per month for the first year, discounted from the regular $7.99 per license price. You need at least two seats, and it’s an annual subscription billed monthly.
That means the advertised $4.99 price isn’t really a $4.99 total monthly bill. With the two-seat minimum, a new team starts at $9.98 per month during the promotional first year.
What’s included:
- All Adobe Express Premium features
- 250 generative credits per user each month
- 1TB of pooled storage per user
- Brand kits, controls and template locking
- Admin Console
- Flexible license management
- Organization-level asset ownership
- Consolidated billing
Best for: small marketing teams, agencies and businesses with several people creating branded content.
Pros:
- Much more storage than the individual plan
- Centralized brand and license management
- Company retains control of business assets
Cons:
- Two-license minimum
- Requires an annual subscription
- Promotional price increases after the first year
For a solo creator, I wouldn’t pay for Teams just to get more storage. Most of its value comes from managing people and brand consistency, not from better individual design tools.
Adobe Express Enterprise: Custom pricing
Adobe Express Enterprise is aimed at larger organizations, so Adobe doesn’t publish a fixed per-user price.
It includes the Teams features but adds enterprise-level controls such as Adobe Experience Manager integration, encryption key support, user directory sync, user-management APIs and 24/7 technical support. Eligible plans can also include Firefly IP indemnification.
Best for: large companies that need centralized security, governance and deployment rather than simply more templates or storage.
For most individuals and small businesses, Enterprise isn’t part of the Adobe Express pricing decision at all.
How Adobe Express billing and generative credits work
Generative credits are one of the easiest parts of Adobe Express pricing to misunderstand.
Think of them as usage units for Adobe’s generative AI features. Different Firefly-powered actions can consume credits, and more computationally demanding premium features can use more than basic generations.
Free generations vs paid generative credits
Adobe Express Free currently gets limited free daily generations rather than the old 25-credits-per-month allowance still mentioned on some third-party sites.
Adobe Express Premium includes 250 generative credits per month, while Firefly Pro increases that to 4,000 credits per month.
If you’re only occasionally generating an image or removing an object, Premium may be enough. Frequent video, audio or third-party model generation is where Firefly Pro becomes much easier to justify.

Do Adobe generative credits roll over?
No. Unused Adobe generative credits don’t roll over to the next month.
Paid-plan credits reset monthly based on your subscription billing date. If you don’t use your allocation before the reset, you lose the remaining credits rather than building up a larger balance.
That’s worth considering before paying specifically for a larger AI allowance.
Check whether you already get Adobe Express Premium
Before paying $9.99 separately, check your existing Adobe subscription.
Adobe Express Premium is already included with Creative Cloud Standard and Creative Cloud Pro, as well as most Creative Cloud Single App plans. Adobe lists InCopy, Substance and Acrobat Standard among the exceptions.
So if you’re already paying for an eligible Adobe plan, buying a separate Adobe Express Premium subscription could mean paying twice for something you already have.
Which Adobe Express plan should you choose?
The best Adobe Express plan depends less on how many features you want and more on how often you create content and how heavily you use AI.
For most people, the decision comes down to Adobe Express Free vs Premium. Firefly Pro and business plans only make sense for more specific workflows.
Choose Free if you:
- Create occasional social posts, flyers or presentations
- Don’t need premium Adobe Stock assets
- Rarely use generative AI
- Want to test Adobe Express before paying
The Free plan is capable enough that I wouldn’t upgrade immediately. Use it until you repeatedly run into a feature marked Premium.
Choose Premium if you:
- Create content every week
- Need brand kits and one-click Resize
- Want premium templates and stock assets
- Schedule content across multiple accounts
- Need more generative AI access
At $9.99 per month, Adobe Express Premium is the plan I’d choose for most freelancers, creators and small-business owners. Adobe currently sells it month-to-month with no annual commitment.
Choose Firefly Pro if you:
- Generate AI images, video or audio regularly
- Expect to exceed Premium’s 250 monthly credits
- Want Adobe Express Premium included
- Would also use Photoshop on web or mobile
Firefly Pro makes more sense when AI is a major part of your workflow rather than an occasional extra.
Choose Teams or Enterprise if you:
- Have multiple people creating company content
- Need centralized brand controls
- Want organization-owned assets
- Need admin, security or user-management features
Teams isn’t really about getting better design tools. You’re paying for collaboration, control and administration.
Is Adobe Express worth the cost?
For frequent content creation, I think Adobe Express Premium is worth $9.99 per month. The biggest value isn’t one particular feature; it’s how much friction premium templates, Resize, brand kits and the larger stock library remove from repetitive design work.
Adobe Express is worth it if you:
- Regularly create marketing or social media graphics
- Use Adobe Stock assets and premium templates
- Resize the same content for several platforms
- Maintain a consistent brand
- Already work with other Adobe products
The value gets even better if Premium is already bundled with your Adobe subscription. Adobe says Express Premium is included with Creative Cloud Standard, Creative Cloud Pro and most Creative Cloud Single App plans.
Skip the paid plan if you:
- Only create a few designs each month
- Rarely need premium templates
- Are comfortable with the Free plan’s limits
- Need advanced photo manipulation rather than quick content creation
Adobe Express isn’t meant to replace the full Photoshop workflow. If detailed photo editing is your priority, read my Adobe Photoshop review before choosing between them.
Adobe Express alternatives & pricing comparison
Adobe Express pricing is competitive, but price alone doesn’t determine the best design platform. Canva is stronger as an all-purpose design ecosystem, Visme focuses heavily on business visuals, while Figma is much better suited to interface and product design.
Here’s how comparable paid options stack up:
| Tool | Typical paid option | Best for | Key advantage |
| Adobe Express | Premium — $9.99/month | Creators and Adobe users | Adobe ecosystem and Stock integration |
| Canva | Pro — $15/month or $120/year | General-purpose design | Huge template and content ecosystem |
| Visme | Starter — $12.25/month, billed annually | Presentations and business visuals | Data visualization and presentation tools |
| Figma | Professional Full seat — $16/month | UI and product design teams | Real-time product design collaboration |
Adobe’s current U.S. Express Premium price is $9.99 per month. Canva’s own published comparison lists Pro at $15 monthly or $120 annually, while Visme currently lists Starter at $12.25 per month when billed annually. Figma lists its Professional Full seat at $16 per month.
If collaborative interface design matters more than quick marketing graphics, my Adobe Express vs Figma comparison goes deeper into that difference.
For presentations, infographics and business content, see my Adobe Express vs Visme comparison instead.
And if none of these quite fit, I’ve rounded up more options in my guide to the best AI graphic design generator tools.
My bottom line on Adobe Express pricing
Adobe Express Free is where I’d start. It gives you enough functionality to find out whether Express actually fits your workflow before spending anything.
For most individual creators, Adobe Express Premium at $9.99 per month offers the best balance of price and features. Firefly Pro becomes the smarter upgrade if AI generation is the main reason you’re paying.
Teams are different: the extra cost only becomes worthwhile when multiple people need shared branding, centralized assets and administration.
If your work goes beyond quick content creation into illustration and more specialized graphics, you may also want to compare dedicated vector graphics software before subscribing.
